Incubation

Greece

a journey to the healing waters of the sea and dreams

This is an invitation to cultivate dream magic through…

Join us in the crystalline blue waters of the Greek Islands for a week of dream healing through the ancient practice of dream incubation.

Als Marmarei, which translates to "Sparkling Sea", will be our home for the duration of our retreat.
Run by a mother-daughter team, the villa sits on rugged hills with breathtaking views of the Cyclades.  After attending my course Dream Seeking last year, Anais, our host, invited me to teach the same style of dream incubation retreat at her property.
As such the property, the owner, and myself have all been incubating in the dream of this gathering for some time.
Needless to say, the land is waiting for us.

THe Villa

In the evenings, stargazing from the terrace is truly magical, while dawn breaks soft and inviting over the sea.
There is a beautiful group space for yoga, dance, and meditation, where we will conduct many of our retreat gatherings.
For the water nymph (or satyr) in all of us, there is a pool as well as walking access (30 min) the beach of Sikamia with it's pristine, clear shimmering waters.

3 meals a day will be lovingly prepared by Theodora.  They will be inspired by local foods, with plenty of fruit and vegetables.   The meals are vegetarian based, but meat will be  provided for some meals.  Your dietary needs will be accounted for.
Tea and coffee will be avilable throughout the day, as well as lite snacks.
You are also welcome to use the kitchens in the cottages to attend to any personal dietary desires.

The Food

To dream with the spirits of the land, we will eat from the bounty of the land.

The villa is made up of smaller cottages, each named after an aspect of the land: Earth, Pomegranate, Sky, and and Als Marmarei.

Each room has its own identity, decorated with earthy, pastel, and vivid colors. There is a fireplace in the main living room.

The beds have anatomically- friendly mattresses of excellent quality and the windows and balcony doors have screens to keep out insects.
Rooms are either include for a queen bed for a single or a couple, or a single bed in a shared room.
Bathrooms and student kitchens are shared.
Shower and beach towels will be provided.

Sleeping & Dreaming

The Days and Nights

Our time together will be spent cultivating relationship with self, relationship with the land, and relationship with the spirits.

In the days, we will work with movement practices, meditations, art, and other sacred practices to open our minds, hearts, and bodies to receive healing dreams.
Over the course of the first few days you will come to understand the nature of healing dreams and what it is to work with intention dreaming.  In both our days and nights will be calling on the nymphs of the island, as well as your personal guides, to visit you in waking and dreaming.

On the 5th day, we will spend the day ritually preparing for our holy night of dreaming.  While dreams may occur on any night, this night is specifically dedicated to the dream vigil.

Beyond this we will also immerse ourselves in the nature, beauty, and culture of Kea.

This will include:

• Sikamia beach - a 30 minute walk/5 min drive
• Visiting the pedestrian city Loulida, which includes the ancient lion of Kea and the Spring of Benjamin
• Sampling Thyme honey, for which the island is famous
• An optional night sleeping on the beach of Sikamia to dream with the sea
• A visit to Ancient Karthea and the temples of Athena and Pythion Apollo

day 6

Ariella met me with such grace, openness, curiosity, deep wisdom and love. So much magic within her and held around her for us all to transform. I felt deeply held in her presence, never once judged, just so much allowance for me to be, for me to feel, for me learn. She facilitates in such a way that there is gentle, but deep unfolding all around you and within you. I was allowed to deeply rest, to deeply feel into my body, deeply return to self. When I look back on my time at Sol Henge, it feels like a dream, like the most beautiful dream, if I could live forever in that dream, I would.

for what felt like the first time in my life

"I was truly seen and heard

What people say
about my retreats:

Facilitators Ariella and Gina created a safe and protective container for the deep and meaningful work to come alive. The practices I learned while in attendance will have a lasting and positive effect on my healing path and practice. The integration of all that we learned and developed over the course of the time there was both affirming and magical to say the very least.

the overall experience was life changing.

"The retreat was much more than expected.

What people say
about my retreats:

Again thank you Ariella for your continued service towards the integration of the feminine into its wholeness. Thank you for the magic you weave.

and has been such an incredible catalyst in my growth.

"The retreat continues to bring gifts and lessons to the surface

Shannon
California Retreat, 2023

So much "learning" happens in the mind nowadays, but this experience is designed for the whole self. 6 months later, new parts of myself are awakening that are shifting decades old perceptions.

I walked in as a woman wanting to learn. I walked out as part of the mystery.

I walked in to a cool retreat. I walked out of a ancient portal.

as well as harkening back to when women were the holders and bearers of the Sacred.  The (retreat) work is embodied while also drawing deeply on the imagination. While teaching us practices that can easily be brought back into everyday life. The revelations that came out of the retreat will be pondered and ruminated over for years to come.

She grounds her work in myth, poetry, and the bees themselves

I have taken several classes with Ariella including her 10-month beekeeping course.

It opened up doors that I didn’t know existed inside of me. I felt truly held during this great transition, as I learned more about myself and the world around me.

"The retreaet was an incredible and beautiful life changing experience

A NOTE ON SHARED ROOMS:
Dear ones, one of the gifts of dream incubation is the shared space.  While some of you will invariably choose or need a solo Queen room, there is something particularly powerful about sharing a room or a bed in this setting.  Your dreams can be truly woven, and the effect of someone sleeping in the same space keeps you in a more liminal and thus dream-rich place.
