Flights:
Our retreat villa is Als Marmarei, located on the island of Kea.
Kea is a beautiful island within the Cycldes, and often overlooked by more famous tourist locations. Only an hour by boat form Athen's port, it's fairly easy to get to.
• Fly into Athens
• For non-European residents, I recommend comparing price costs between:
a) Flying from your home airport to Athens. Note: there are very few non-stop flights.
b) Flying into a capital city in Europe and booking a separate hopper flight to Athens. This can sometimes be cheaper.

• From Port of Lavrio → Port of Kea you will take a local Ferry. The trip is 1 hour and costs around $20.
• Use FerryHopper or www.openseas.gr to find and book times
• Please take care to plan your trip early, as the ferry times may affect whether you choose to do all your travel in one day, or if you want to break it up.
Boat to Kea:
Airport to Port:
• Taxi's run about $50 from Athens airport to the port of Lavrio. The trip is 30 minutes.
• Alternatively, you can also take a bus, which is a 3 hour trip. www.ktelattikis.gr

Renting a Car:
You may also choose to rent a car to have more freedom of travel. You can rent a car from Athens, or when you arrive in Kea.
Once on Kea, by private car from the ferry port (Korissia), follow the way to the main town of Loulida. After the first entrance of Loulida, you turn left at the sign to Pera Meria. Once you reach the top entrance of Loulida, you drive a little longer, until you find the sign to Pera Meria, Sikamia, then you just follow the road, at your left. You pass the sign to Kalydonichi and you go straight ahead. In a little while you can see on your left the Villa Als Marmarei. The final part of the route, about 1 km, is a passable dirt road.
Gettin Around on Island:
The retreat center is blessedly remote. It's a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk down to the nearest beach. There's a grocery story 10 minutes away. You will have some longer afternoons to explore, should you want to, but you will need a car. Otherwise, we recommend resting, walking, swimming, and enjoying the countryside.
